Ferrovial will build a 200 MW solar plant in Badajoz for 100 million

The construction company Ferrovial has been awarded a contract for the construction, design, commissioning and maintenance during the first two years of a photovoltaic solar plant in Badajoz that will produce up to 200 megawatts. The value of this contract has exceeded the amount of 100 million euros.

The execution period for the works is fourteen months, a period in which some 500 direct and indirect jobs could be generated. This latest acquisition is in addition to other projects that the company has in the renewable energy generation sector, such as the turnkey construction of the 50 MW El Berrocal photovoltaic solar plant in Seville (Spain), the construction of two photovoltaic solar energy located in Andalusia with an investment of 75 million euros or the construction of the wind farm that will belong to Cabo Leones (Chile).

In a statement, Ferrovial wanted to underline that it is also working to promote the development of offshore wind energy and recalls its interest in five wind farms with an installed capacity of 2,250 MW on the coasts of Lugo, Pontevedra, Gerona, Malaga and Gran Canaria. , at a distance of between eleven and thirty kilometers from the coast.
