The transport company Alsa has begun to market the passes that include the 50% discount approved by the central government to face the rise in prices. These subscriptions and multi-trip tickets will focus on regional services, which are what operate within the same autonomous community and between bordering regions.
The launch of the season tickets is carried out under the royal decree approved by the Government, which will pay the 30% reduction in transport services in the autonomous communities and local entities, as long as the communities and town halls pay the remaining 20% up to full 50% discount.
This reduction will be complemented by free subscriptions for long-distance lines, which will be subsidized by the State, starting next February 1, always for recurring passengers. The regional passes will cover some routes for frequent travelers, such as those from Malaga-Granada, San Sebastián-Pamplona or Santander-Torrelavega.
Discount ends June 30
The validity period of the new subscriptions with the 50% discount ends on June 30. Alsa sells various types of passes to meet the different mobility needs of travelers, ranging from 3 to 40 trips. No deposit is required to obtain them, as is the case with the Renfe passes for Media Distancia and Cercanías, but solid conditions are established to prevent their improper use.
