The Board of Trustees of the Unicaja Foundation – whose founding entity is the Unicaja Banking Foundation – in the session held this Thursday has adopted a series of agreements in the field of its governance, such as the appointment as president of Mariano Vergara Utrera. Likewise, Mónica Armada Martín has been appointed as secretary (not patron).
This was reported by the Unicaja Foundation in a statement, noting that this governing body held its first ordinary session this Thursday with its new composition, approved at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Unicaja Banking Foundation on January 26.
In this sense, they have indicated that from this Thursday the composition of the Board of Trustees of the Unicaja Foundation remains with Vergara as president and with Francisco Javier Berlanga Fernández, José Manuel Cabra de Luna, Tomás Cano Rodrigo, Eva Díaz Pérez, Francisco Flores Lara, Pedro Luis Gómez Carmona, Francisco Herrera Núñez, Agustín Molina Morales, Francisco Morales Lomas, Ignacio Ortega Campos, Carlos Gerald Pranger, José Emilio Villena Peña and Mónica Armada Martín (secretary, not patron).
Vergara Utrera has a degree in Law, lawyer and international officer from the Diplomatic Schools of Madrid and Vienna. He has been vice president and chief executive of Unicaja and was a member of the Social Council of the University of Malaga and a member of the Board of Directors of the Teatro Cervantes y Echegaray.
A new stage in the entity
Likewise, during the session, the president of the Unicaja Banking Foundation, José M. Domínguez, welcomed the new sponsors and presented the basic lines of the entity’s three-year plan for the coming years.
As recorded by the entity, the social work of the Unicaja Banking Foundation is carried out, in part, through the Unicaja Foundation, the Unicaja Ronda Foundation and the Unicaja Jaén Foundation. Likewise, the new Board of Trustees of the Unicaja Foundation has also been exposed to the Action Plan for 2023, which is expected to reach more than 140,000 beneficiaries through more than 400 actions.
Finally, the Board of Trustees has also approved the functions that until now were delegated to its Council in the statement.
