Air Europa and Iryo announce the new tickets. The airline and the railway operator Iryo (participated by Trenitalia, Air Nostrum and Globalvia) have confirmed this Friday the sale of combined train and plane tickets, following the strategic alliance between both companies that they signed last June. Thanks to this initiative, travelers will be considered connecting passengers, which will allow them to enjoy the same advantages and guarantees that both companies offer their customers, Air Europa has highlighted on its social networks.
In a single accommodation a trip will begin from the connections offered by Iryo between Madrid and eleven Spanish cities (Barcelona, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Cuenca, Valencia, Albacete, Alicante, Málaga, Antequera, Córdoba and Seville), with the 33 destinations which operates the dryer in Europe and the 21 in America. Combined tickets are available at Air Europa points of sale, authorized agencies and will soon also be available on the airline’s website.
The vacuum cleaner, which works to offer its customers “comprehensive solutions” for their trips, considers that the intermodal agreement with Iryo is “strategic” and will allow it to offer “all possible options to improve mobility through a complete, efficient experience. cient and sustainable.”
With this alliance, by virtue of which Air Europa becomes Iryo’s first partner in a rail-air partnership, the latter has highlighted the importance of the train as the most sustainable means of transport to connect medium and long distance flights, to the while Air Europa expands its offer of destinations and improves the mobility of its customers.
Through joint conditions
At the presentation of the agreement with Iryo in June, the CEO of Air Europa, Jesús Nuño de la Rosa, explained that this is a first phase of the alliance between both companies in which the single ticket will be the sum of the prices of both services, but the passenger will have certain advantages that would not be obtained by purchasing them separately, such as, for example, ease of management if one of the modes of transport is delayed.
He added that this multimodal strategy is essential to reduce the impact of climate change and be sustainable,” with the aim of satisfying the needs of leisure and business customers.
He also announced that this first phase will be completed, especially in 2025, when the high-speed railway arrives directly at the Madrid airport, which will mean “a new stage in multimodal transportation, by allowing travelers arriving by plane to take the train.
